![]() MALAHANG Technical Secondary School in Lae was a proud recipient of the Bank South Pacific (BSP) community project 2020 with a new-look library and six computers. The library and computers were handed over to the school by BSP Lae Market branch manager Gabriel Ak in a ceremony witnessed by students and staff yesterday. Ak said the computers and accessories were worth K25,000. He said the donated computers were an initiative by BSP to give back to the community. “This is a small but a significant project,” Ak said.
“Many schools do not have computers in their libraries and it’s a privilege for Malahang. “This year, we decided to give out computers instead of the water projects we support every year.” He said the computers were installed with learning programmes to complement students’ learning and research. Malahang Technical Secondary School principal Winstanly Taomba thanked BSP saying having computers in the library would boost students’ learning. He said computers were difficult to install in a school like Malahang. “Many other schools need such facilities and we are privileged to have computer in our school now,” Taomba said.
