![]() Leading Learning 3 is a #PNGAusPartnership Secondary Schools (PASS) activity aimed at supporting the implementation of PNG’s education policy and improvement frameworks, like the National Approach to School Standards Assessment (NASSA) tool, which is used to evaluate the quality of standards of a school. For the first time, the Leading Learning 3 workshop was co-delivered by PASS and the PNG National Department of Education (NDoE) to strengthen secondary school education practices and support school leaders to be change makers in their provinces. The workshop also supports NDoE to build capability across 12 provinces to deliver the NASSA tool and utilise the model for wider roll out across PNG. 40 educators from across 12 PASS schools, 24 provincial school inspectors (12 male, 12 female), 12 school leaders from the PASS schools and 4 NDoE officials joined in the activity.
Grace Kilip, Principal of Gumine High School in Simbu province said, “Coming together in this format to share skills and collaborate with colleagues from across the country strengthens our learning networks and school improvement strategies.” Speaking at the workshop, Australian High Commission’s Minister Counsellor, Paul Lehmann said, “We hope your engagement in this workshop helps you support school improvement and that you share these learnings with your colleagues back in your provinces.” Education Secretary Dr Uke Kombra thanked the Australian Government for supporting PNG’s secondary education through the PASS initiative.
