THE Papua New Guinea Government has awarded a K17.5 million contract to a nationally owned contractor to build a new mess for the PNG University of Technology in Lae, Morobe. Regional Engineering and Construction (REC) signed the contract at Government House in Port Moresby yesterday. The new dining hall will replace the one burnt down on June 26, 2016, during a period of student unrest.
Department of Higher Education Research, Science and Technology secretary Fr Jan Czuba signed the contract with REC managing director Danny Kepi and Unitech deputy vice-chancellor Dr Garry Sali.
