ABOUT 600 youths in Gulf have been given a second chance in education through the establishment of a new technical vocational education and training (Tvet) centre in the province last week. “This is the first for Highlands Youth Training and Rehabilitation College (HYTARC) to develop a routine in Kerema and we are excited to take on the challenges, and to start registration and enrolment this month,” founder Michael Goro said. “We had 200 students who registered from Kikori and 400 students from Kerema, however, we are expecting more enrolments.”
HYTARC will start classes in Kerema. The college had approached MPs from the province to recognise and approve its services by educating youths through business and trade courses. During the HYTARC launching in Kerema last week, more than 200 youths attended the event and registered. The school targeted school leavers and aimed to train them under HYTARC principles. HYTARC was founded in 2001 for those students who had missed out from the mainstream education in the country. The National / PNG Education News Also read
