THE Flexible, Open and Distance Education (Fode) programme expects to have up to 75,000 enrolments this year, an official says. Fode principal Anthony Rayappan said last year, 54,000 students enrolled into Fode and this year, the figure would increase by 30 per cent (16,200) to 40 per cent (21,600). This would mean from 72,000 last year to 75,000 enrolments this year.
Rayappan said they would need more teachers this year and those who wished to apply had to be recent graduates with bachelor’s degrees in education and have a teaching qualification. He said work experience was preferred but not essential. Rayappan said they could apply by sending their applications to Fode headquarters and would be posted to other Fode centres.
