ENGA students attending tertiary institutions in the country have promised to work with re-elected Governor Sir Peter Ipatas to restore peace following General Election 2022 violence in the province. University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) Enga students association president Liapson John said Enga students from tertiary institutions including UPNG School of Medicine and Health Sciences would unite with Sir Peter to ensure the return of peace. “We will hold our hands together and support our action father and governor to promote peace and bring normalcy to our people,” he said.
John said this in front of UPNG students and supporters after Sir Peter arrived in Port Moresby from Enga. “As you can see, Enga is in chaos as a result of GE22 so we wanted to support and help the governor to restore peace through awareness and reconciliations programmes in all communities in the province.” Sir Peter retained his seat for the sixth time.
