![]() The Eastern Highlands Provincial Education board has suspended all basic education including elementary, community and primary schools for the 2021 academic year. According to a circular sent out by the Provincial Education Director Albert Wesley numbered, 18 of 2021, the PEB’s decision follows the Provincial pandemic controller John Gimiseve’s order to continue the lockdown for the next 14 days starting today. The decision was taken due to the surge in CIVID-19 in the province.
During the surge, the province has lost about 26 teachers in the province between September and October. Provincial Education Director Mr Albert Wesley made this known in a circular instruction number 18/201 last week Friday. Mr Albert Wesley adds teachers are vulnerable to the virus as they deal with hundreds of students every day at schools.
