![]() Keeping our children safe is a priority for the PNGAusPartnership Secondary Schools (PASS) initiative who is working with Equal Playing Field to develop a Safe Schools Network. Child Protection workshops have now been delivered in 12 PASS secondary schools across PNG. The workshops cover important cultural aspects and take into consideration the local context for greatest impact. With new knowledge, templates and digital packs, participants are now developing Safe School Committees to ensure continued development of school-specific child protection policies to promote greater responsibility for the safety of school students.
Teachers from the six national high schools and six provincial secondary schools including St Gabriel’s Technical Secondary (Western), Anditale High School (Enga), Mt Hagen Secondary (Western Highlands), Gumini Secondary (Simbu), Vanimo Secondary (Sandaun), and St Mary’s Asitavi (ARoB) are now equipped with child protection tools to provide a safe school environment for their students.
