Butuka Academy in NCD is working on one of its biggest girls project of Management Menstruation Hygiene (MMH) this year. The project comes under the Water Sanitation Hygiene (WaSH) project through the Education Department. Butuka Academy- Deputy Principal Jean Ifuda says the project was initiated by female student leaders of the academy. Hence, they named the project ‘Sisters for life” project. The projects name is in line with the school’s motto ‘Learn for Life.’ Mrs. Ifuda says students have taken the initiative to do other projects after the WaSH program introduces its program of teeth brushing through the Colgate Industry. She says the new MMH Project is a longtime concern that has been raised by female students. On Thursday last week, a survey was rolled out with forms sent out to parents to assist the girls answer questions regarding menstruation hygiene at home. Mrs. Ifuda says with the results of the survey, they will see how they can go about with this new MMH Project for female students in the academy. The MMH project is yet to be rolled out in other schools in NCD. Next: Comments are closed.
