![]() As newly qualified nurses, midwives and teachers, the latest cohort of Australia Awards graduates in PNG are ready to make a difference in communities across the nation. Australian High Commission representatives were delighted to celebrate the scholars’ success at graduation ceremonies in Enga, Morobe, Madang and Central Province last month. Each ceremony also saw the #PNGAusPartnership Prize awarded to a high-achieving student for their academic and leadership skills. Since 2012, the #PNGAusPartnership has provided over 2,000 scholarships for study in PNG in priority sectors including health, education and maritime.
This is in addition to the 3.2 million Kina in capacity-building support provided to PNG partner tertiary institutions since 2017, investing in teaching resources, physical infrastructure and student welfare. We’re proud of this long-term and sustained investment in Papua New Guineans and wish the newest graduates every success in the months and years ahead.
