![]() Congratulations to 200 year nine students of De La Salle Secondary School. A total of 200 students from De La Salle Secondary School completed First Aid Training and graduated with certificates and merchandise bags courtesy of the Sir Brian Bell Foundation this week. Mr Pekima acknowledged the support from the Sir Brian Bell Foundation and St John Ambulance Papua New Guinea in the delivery of the First Aid in Schools program to their year nine students and encouraged them to utilise their first aid lifesaving skills should they ever be in that situation. Program Coordinator Ms Zoe Saulep expressed gratitude to the school management for their support towards the program and encouraged the students to use their newly gained knowledge should they encounter an accident or emergency in the community.
The First Aid in Schools program has educated over 8000 young people since 2018 with basic First Aid skills covering topics such as managing bleeding, assisting in childbirth, CPR and also preventative strategies to prevent illness and injury in their schools, homes and communities.
