![]() BALOB Teachers College yesterday graduated 370 students into the teaching profession, with a strong emphasis to serve and not to be served. Principal Jerry Hendigao said with the knowledge, skills and talent acquired and developed, graduating teachers needed to teach in rural areas because Balob’s emphasis was to serve. He reminded the graduates of the challenges that would await them as teachers. He said they would have little to no teaching resources at some of the schools they would teach at but he encouraged them to be resourceful and to ensure they improvised learning material required for each syllabus.
“It is you who will determine the future of each children whom you teach; and remember that the success of the child is a reflection of most determined and committed teachers.” Teachers Service Commission (TSC) commissioner operations Maini Ugaia encouraged teachers to be innovative and creative in how they expended their lessons. “As you walk into a classroom in 2021, expand the limits of those who come into your classroom,” he said. “I expect you to explore the world of knowledge which is at your disposal through your smart phones and with those new skills, knowledge and ideas, you can strategise to boost your student’s learning development.” Next : Teachers In PNG Need Discipline Comments are closed.
