Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Australia has opened applications for a new tailored social media for e-Business professional development scholarship, designed specifically for businesses across the Pacific region. As the region navigates a new ‘COVID normal’ world, PTI Australia identified a digital capability gap within Pacific businesses and has designed a six-week practical professional development program. The program builds on the successful one-day PTI Australia Social Media Masterclass. The six-week program will deepen the knowledge and extend the practical skills of participants, enabling them to effectively use social media to grow their business.

Study in PNG on this fully funded Scholarship. The Australian Awards in PNG Post Graduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching is now open for Papua New Guineans. Teaching (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – STEM) graduates will contribute to quality education across PNG. Women and people with disability are strongly encouraged to apply. The Australian Government in partnership with the Government of PNG will offer scholarships to undertake a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching (STEM) in 2021 at the University of Goroka. This scholarship is for study in PNG only. The Australian Government through the Australian Awards gives free scholarships to Papua New Guinea to study in Universities and Colleges in PNG. The In-PNG Australian Awards for General Nursing is now open. Australia Awards In-PNG Scholarships are prominent awards offered by the Australian Government in partnership with the Government of Papua New Guinea to support service delivery in Health, Education and Transport. Through study and training in PNG, scholarship recipients develop the knowledge and skills to drive change and to make positive contributions to social and economic development. The Australian Government is committed to promoting gender equity, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and encourages women, people with disability and people from rural and remote locations to apply for an In-PNG Scholarship. Eligibility Criteria The scholarship will be awarded annually to a doctoral student who is a citizen, and resident in, one of the following Pacific countries; Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga and Vanuatu to carry out doctoral study at AUT University. Applicants must be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible countries. Applicants may not have citizenship or permanent residence status of New Zealand or any other developed country. Applicants who are New Zealand citizens from the Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau and dual citizens of Samoa are exempt from this requirement; however, they must reside in the Cook Islands, Nuie, Tokelau or Samoa or another eligible country. The Prime Minister re-stated and re-affirmed his Government’s commitment to ensuring HELP loan funding availability for the Academic Year 2020.
The Prime Minister’s commitment follows NEC Decision NG179/2019 to establish a Higher Education Loan Program (PNG-HELP) aimed at increasing the number of young men and women entering and graduating from our higher and technical education institutions with a quality education. Following the Prime Minister’s Address earlier this week, DHERST wishes to advise students, parents, guardians and the general public of the following important information: HELP Loan support will commence in 2020: HELP is an income-contingent Loan and is therefore repayable once students graduate and commence paid employment. HELP Loans will be interest free with loan balances adjusted annually for inflation. It is important to remember that HELP is a Loan; and no one is being forced to sign up for HELP. Scholarship Awards TESAS will continue: In accordance with the MOU on Educational Cooperation between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. The Chinese Government will provide twenty (20) full scholarships for Bachelor’s Degree and eight (8) full scholarships for Master’s degree for PNG Students to study in China for the academic year 2020/2021.
