I am overruled by humility, as I know life is not equally earned as well as airing out my thoughts, as I am exercising my basic human rights. Yes, it is true, only in the eyes of the higher authorities, but divergingly, law is being derogated in the usual flow of goods and services in our public and private sectors and yet nothing is being addressed due to its various speculative reasons. I was arrested while doing my second year at UPNG by the Uni-Force Security guards in 2019 around the sixth week of the first semester for having in-possession of one-inner cambridge cigarettes in the UPNG vicinity. Apart from that, my backpack harboured a Dell laptop, a Samsung smartphone and a special-documents folder which was grasped by the UNI-guards and handed to a particular Cop at the Waigani police station, who promptly snatched the bag, to avoid being snitched. Despite repealing the UPNG constitution, I was locked at the Waigani police station cell as if I was breaching the nation’s paramount constitution. While in search for some fresh and cozy oxygen after a sleepless night in the cell corridor, the arresting officer (name deliberately withheld), came stood right before the rusty iron rods and yelled for my laptop's password and claimed it was crucially necessary inorder to reaffirm if I am the principal property holder of the electronic device. I did as he demanded and after some minutes, for the second time, he came by and groaned at me for my phone's password and again pertained to the same reason. I was so stressed that my mind was bombarded simultaneously as I was thinking of school while having nowhere else to go. I gave him the passwords in hope it would help me avoid abusement in confinement and afford liberty. But instead, it had no way to work that way. I was miserably misled. Both the devices’ passwords were changed even without my consent. At about 3pm in the afternoon, I was transferred by an unmarked and tinted 10-seater land cruiser over to Boroko police station cell and was locked in cell 3. Astonishingly, I was charged for having in possession of illicit substances; marijuana which I as the owner of the bag have no single thought of how that horrible thing got into my educational belongings. My case was adjourned after two mentions due to lack of evidence while the cop was all away utilising the electronic devices. The Boroko committal court prosecutor Mr Elias Yohang drafted a court order and handed it to the Waigani PSC for the return of my bag to the prosecutor's office. After one night in Waigani cell and an additional 12 nights at Boroko cell, the convicted cop returned the bag but did not appear in court which led to defunct the accusation and I was freed. I managed to successfully complete my second year of studies and I am still moving on bit by bit to reach the leaking light at the fringe of the murky tunnel, where the river of milk and honey trickles in an unpredictable and limitless pace, guggling, guggling. Whatever I encounter is equally and naturally essential as I believe that everything happens for a reason. Inorder to become the successful person in the future you must expect the unexpected circumstances and sometimes go through experiences that will technically try to squeeze the life out of you. If you withstand such survival threats then be sure that it aint a coincidence, you're the hero to your genealogy, who strived so hard to brought you that far. pett.jpg Cherish every moment while you still have the ability to inhale and you must not forget to always do unto others what you want them to do to you.
