In a bid to illuminate the path to education and academic success, TotalEnergies EP PNG Limited (TotalEnergies) has made a significant contribution to the St Margaret Catholic Primary School in Brown River, Koiari Rural LLG, Central Province. On April 22, 2024, the operator of the Papua LNG project presented fifty (50) One Sunshine solar lamps to Grade 8 students and their teachers, marking a milestone in their ongoing commitment to community development and education in Papua New Guinea. The Papua LNG project, operating in Central Province for the past two and a half years in partnership with the Papua New Guinea Forest Authority, has been actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development and supporting local communities. The recent donation of solar lamps to St Margaret Catholic Primary School serves as a testament to their dedication to empowering education in the region. Abdul Malik, Director of TotalEnergies' Business, Renewables, and Carbon Neutrality division, emphasized the importance of education and the role of renewable energy in facilitating learning. Malik encouraged the Grade 8 students, who are currently preparing for their final exams, to take advantage of the solar lamps to extend their study hours and enhance their academic performance.
