THE University of Natural Resources and Environment in East New Britain continues to suffer as a result of weak administration, Higher Education Minister Malakai Tabar says. He said the newly-appointed acting vice-chancellor had difficulties dealing with issues. Tabar told Parliament yesterday that the National Executive Council had yet to discuss issue. Rabaul MP Dr Allan Marat claimed the appointment of the acting vice-chancellor was “hijacked” and that no announcement was made this year. He said there was a push for the appointment of Dr John Warren from Wales by the senior executive management but he (Warren) declined. Marat added that there was now a push for the current acting vice-chancellor Dr Samson Lau to become the new vice-chancellor.
