A LONG-established school in the National Capital District will experience a major upgrade.
Pari Primary School, which was established in 1962, will undergo a major renovation worth K1.2 million, a partnership funding from Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko and NCD Governor Powes Parkop. Tkatchenko and Parkop, who want all children in NCD schools to get quality education, did a groundbreaking ceremony yesterday. The interior and exterior of 14 old classrooms will be completely renovated and made brand-new, a new septic toilet system will be built and a basketball and volleyball court will come as part of the sports enhancement programme. The project contract was awarded to Phoenix Builders Ltd, who will also do proper landscape for flower beds. Tkatchenko said he visited the school three months ago and was not happy with the rundown facilities. He decided that a major upgrade was needed. “We will do this for all schools for Moresby South year by year because children are the future and they can’t be properly educated if they do not have proper facilities,” Tkatchenko said. He promised to work closely with the school’s management to ensure Pari Primary School becomes one of the best in the electorate. Comments are closed.
