In a strategic move to enhance the quality of education in the province, the Morobe government has earmarked K1 million for the school inspectorate division. Administrator Max Bruten revealed that this budget allocation is intended to facilitate inspector visits to all urban and rural schools across Morobe. Bruten emphasized that achieving quality education is directly linked to the diligent work of school inspectors. Their visits, he stated, are crucial in ensuring the presence of teachers in schools and the effective delivery of education. Morobe had faced a shortage of inspectors, but recent appointments have filled these vacancies, bringing the total to 19 for primary and preparatory schools. Additionally, three senior school inspectors are anticipated for high schools and secondary schools, contributing to a total of 22 inspectors for Morobe. The distribution of inspectors for the basic education sectors involves assigning two inspectors to each of the 10 districts, with exceptions for Kabwum and Wau-Waria, which will have one each. According to data from the provincial inspectorate division in the previous year, the 19 school inspectors are tasked with overseeing 2,242 pre-school teachers in 982 schools, catering to a total student population of 90,000. Furthermore, primary school teachers, totaling 3,036, are distributed across 399 schools in Morobe. Expressing gratitude, Provincial Senior School Inspector (Primary/Pre-school) Kwinda Trenian and Provincial Education Adviser Keith Tangui acknowledged both the administration and the government for their allocation to the division. This financial support is expected to fortify the education system in Morobe and contribute to the continuous improvement of academic standards in the province. Also read Comments are closed.
