By Robert Iki Leso Sometime ago, I have stated this but I wish to say it again because many people are ignorant of this and their consequences. Serve selflessly with passion. Love without limit and conditions. Because life is too short to drag on, roll in the mud and carry loads that are not worth keeping. Anything we do, let us do with genuine heart knowing that the Lord is our secret witness and the judge at the same time. I have observed amazing things over few years of my life. Not that I lived that long but looking back and to date following are what I have observed. We humans think that this do not matter and are brushed under the rug, paying little attention to their consequences. We should be careful when we curse, gossip or say something bad against someone, a man of God, a relative, or friend closer to our fire place. Every time we cook from that fire we pass it onto our family and when they eat, they eat with all those curse words. And the effect remains with our family and the children and not the ones whom we speak against.
When we are given positions of responsibility in government, church or any others for that matter, so much is expected from us. Mostly public servants such as teachers, nurses, doctors, including all the other public services should serve with integrity, diligence and due care. The writing is on the wall that public servants who miss work, cheat and fool other people have their family taken away everything. Not everything once but slowly. It has been observed that some teachers who have terrorised, missed classes and abused other people’s children have not done well in life. They have never progressed further and their children are not doing well. Why is that? They thought they were cheating other people’s children and theirs will do well, which on the contrary turned against them. All servants of God with due respect who are serving should also serve with trembling and fear as the judgement of God will start from the house of God. As much is given, much will be expected. Never cheat and fool the congregation members. Do not misuse money. We need to preach the truth, live accountable lives and be good stewards with the tithes and offerings to do worthwhile things then misuse them. There are people who have gone around cheating other people’s boyfriends or girlfriends, or even fooling around with other people’s spouses. They do not forget that their fiancés or spouses will be cheated by another person and create problems in those relationships. God can forgive our sins but the consequences will remain just like the wound can be healed but the scar remains forever. So all these should be a lesson for all of us to be responsible and accountable. Anything bad that we do, always affect us first. Anything good that we do always bless us first. Do to others what you want them to do to you. Never become smart, apply double standards and play hard and seek. We cannot gamble with God. He takes the upper hand!
