Nursing scholarships will contribute to quality access to primary health care treatment in urban and rural settings across Papua New Guinea. For Study in 2019, the Australian Government and our private partners, Newcrest Mining and Steamships will offer scholarships to undertake the Diploma of Nursing at the following PNG tertiary education institutions:
This Scholarship is for study in PNG only (not Australia) Eligibility RequirementsThe Scholarship is open to both School Leavers (Grade 12 students who will complete their study in 2018) and Non-School Leavers. School Leavers and Non-School Leavers to be eligible you must:
School LeaversSchool leavers are chosen through the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) Tertiary Education Student Assistance Scheme (TESAS) selection process which occurs in the first week of December 2018. More information on the process for school leavers can be found here: http://www.dherst.gov.pg School leavers must nominate Lae School of Nursing and/or Enga College of Nursing. Students who are selected for entry to each college by DHERST will then be invited to apply for a scholarship. School Leavers MUST NOT submit an application form. Non-School LeaversNon-school leavers must have completed Grade 12, or matriculation upgrade (FODE/CODE), with a minimum GPA of 2.6, with minimum Grade B in Biology and Chemistry and Grade C in Mathematics (A) and English (Literature). Non-School Leaver Application Process Non-School Leavers MUST complete the application form below. Non-School Leaver applications will close at 5pm, Friday 17 August 2018.
