Wagau Primary School was established in 1961 by the Lutheran Church as a vernacular Mission School but changed status from a vernacular school to a Government agency school in 1963. The school is one of the oldest primary school located in the remote hinterlands of Buang Local Level Government in the Bulolo District of Morobe Province.The schoolgine through alot of tangible development since 2010 under the Leadership of the Head Teacher Mr. Mufuanuc Zurete through the development of the School SLIP plan and effective implementation the school has adequate staff accommodation with Television extension cable into all staff house that was also supported by the Member for Bulolo Hon. Sam Basil.The school has been reclassified in 2016 to level 5 with 13 teaching positions and well over 463 students.Wagau is the only school in this very remote location that has internet and Television channels of Em.TV,NBC Kundu and Lotus channel Television.
