Schools will be receiving their T-F-F funds on quarterly basis instead of the original arrangement of two payments.
Acting Education Secretary, Doctor Uke Kombra announced this saying schools will receive their funds beginning of every term. The government this year allocated 602 million Kina for the T-F-F. "We have now broken the payments into four quarters. So every term we will release funds not as before when we released two payments, one in term 1 and one term 3.But under the the new policy we have, we'll disperse funds on a termly basis or quarterly basis". Meantime, schools have received portions of the T-F-F from last year's allocation, at the start of this year. Doctor Kombra said this was due to the financial shortfalls, experienced last year. He however, commended schools who kept operating despite the situation. About 46-point 9 million Kina was disbursed this year. NBC TV
