SCHOOLS will receive the balance of tuition fees for 2016 by this month.
Finance Minister James Marape assured the schools when he was guest of honour at Paglum Adventist Secondary School. Mr Marape encouraged schools to ensure better administration of school funds and other resources schools have, like land for schools to grow their own rations. He commended Paglum Adventist Secondary School for being recognised by the South Pacific division of Seventh-Day Adventist Church as a five star school. "With little or no money but good administration of the school led by hard working Principal Mr Robinson Lanza, the school is now first throughout the Pacific education system of the SDA church, and I offer my sincerest commendation to all hard working staff." He said good administration makes a lot of difference in the manner and attitude of schools. Paglum secondary progressed from a junior high school into high school and now a secondary school. Community leader and business personality Micheal Ekri commended the church and indicated community support for the school to move into the future as a possible site for tertiary institution. WH Mission of SDA president Allan Akili and chairman of the school board commended the hard working staff and thanked all involved in making this historic day come to pass. He said he wished to look at upgrading all teachers in the school to masters degree level and to have one teacher per subject for the school. "This will make the teacher prepare well and the students learning well."
