WITHOUT quality education you will become a useless person and you will not die from not obtaining it but live a miserable life, a group of students have been told.
Kairuku-Hiri MP Peter Isoaimo told 180 graduating Grade 12 students of Mt Diamond Adventist Secondary School outside Port Moresby last Friday that happiness and fulfilment in life was only achieved through quality education. “Parents and supporters are making a big investment in your education, believing that you will succeed in your studies, become a successful person and help develop the community in which you live,” Isoaimo said during the school’s 17th graduation ceremony. “Being a product of a Christian school is a privilege for many of you to be serious in your education journey through self-discipline and repay your hardworking parents.” He said life was not meant to be easy and today we lived in a challenging millennium where the level of education had increased as a result of stiff competition. “In every school that I visit, I keep on reminding the students that Papua New Guineans will not live the same as before,” he said. “Many of our people are now living and working overseas, moved on and experience a different lifestyle. “I encourage our students to set goals, think big and study hard and if you commit yourselves to your goals, you will be somebody important in 30-40 years’ time.” Isoaimo, who said he believed in education for children in his electorate, pledged to pay all outstanding school fees for all Grade 12 students from Kairuku-Hiri district who graduated last Friday. He urged principal Martin Seve, the administration, staff and board of management to forward the school’s needs and requirements to his office for assistance. Comments are closed.
