GINIGOLO Primary School has been given a laptop and printer by Professor Michael Ntumy, a former law lecturer at the University of Papua New Guinea.
Ntumy, now based in Nigeria, had promised the school during a recent visit, that he would buy a laptop and printer. His son, Thomas Ntumy, handed over the new equipment to head teacher Robert Tsiperau. “The purpose of this donation is to make learning easier and help the school have wider access to the outside world with the use of internet,” Thomas said. He said his father decided to buy the equipment while visiting sister Abbra Ntumy who attended the school. “My father noticed that there were no computers in the school,” Thomas said. “Before leaving the school, he promised the head teacher he was going to buy a laptop and printer for the school and has done so.” The school has 220 students from Grade Three to Grade Eight and eight teachers. Tsiperau thanked Ntumy for the equipment. “I thank the Ntumy’s and hope their act of kindness paves the way for more of such donations,” he said. “I would like to urge local leaders and the government to aid us with basic necessities that we need to provide quality education for our students.” Comments are closed.
