FORMER education officers and other public servants in Western Highlands still occupying houses owned by Kui Wamp Nga High School should start moving out. Principal Nathan James said the houses were previously owned by the by Resource Centre of the provincial government. The provincial government three years ago handed over houses with the land title to the school when the school was established at the old defunct resource centre.
He said the school managed to get one house and a duplex building which now accommodates three females and a male teacher. The other six houses with two duplex buildings are still being occupied by some current and former public servants. James said that he gave eviction notices to the illegal tenants on three occasions but they were still there. “This is giving me more headache, I have 30 teachers and 24 teachers sleeping in settlements and with friends outside and come to work,” he said. James said that the education of the students are important and he can’t continue to entertain the illegal tenants but, would use force to remove them.
