PORT Moresby National High School has asserted its prominence as one of the top five schools producing academic excellence in the country, says Principal David Diowai.
Diowai said this at the school’s 20th graduation last week which saw 152 boys and 117 girls in Grade 12 graduate with Higher School Certificates. He said, since the school’s inception 20 years ago, it has produced many elites now holding down reputable positions including chief executive officers, departmental heads, lawyers and engineers. “The gold, black and purple uniform is the powerhouse of this country. The school this country can depend on for its development and future progress,” Diowai said. He said last year it graduated 315 Grade 12 of which 76 were selected to continue studies at that University of Papua New Guinea and 45 to the University of Technology in Lae. “Other institutions around the country also selected a good number of our students which in all is very pleasing for me as the principal of this wonderful school.” Diowai said although examination results for their Grade 12 were still being processed by OHE, he was optimistic of exceptional results continuing the school’s illustrious history in academic excellence.
