THE Teaching Service Commission (TSC) is in the process of establishing a database called the Teacher Information Base to monitor teachers, chairman Baran Sori says.
He said after 41 years of not having a proper system, the commission decided to have an accurate base so that as an employer, it could monitor its employees and reduce such issues as leave fares. He said this would help the commission monitor teachers’ careers. “As teachers employer, we must have accurate information such as when they were engaged, how many years of teaching they had, their, the movement from one province to another, their qualifications, the level of positions that they have and other aspects.” Sori said other programmes had information but were quite messy and needed a proper data base system. He said the programme started last year, with an officer going for training at DATEC to learn about the system and would be in charge. “What we will do is that the payroll system that is currently in effect is only focusing on pay but the person in charge will also use this system to extract human resource information out from there so we could have a clear data for teachers,” Sori said. “It will take us a while but we hope that by that time the system is up and running it should be able to monitor and avoid such things as false claims from teachers regarding leave fares.” Sori said they had received good support from various government stakeholders to establish the teacher information system.

I am happy about what the TSC is doing in terms of the database arrangement. This would surely cut unnecessary dealys in teachers entitlements and other issues. Go forward and keep up with the changing times. Cheers..

Can these system also assist in paying teachers at their correct salary scale? I have a Degree n when and am still being paid on a base 2 since I started teaching in 2004. I understand that, having a degree, I should be paid on a base 3 salary. I enquired regarding the subject but I was told that the when the system is updated, our pays will also be updated. My question..when will this system be updated and how long are we going to wait?

Hello all of you at TSC. My input is "VITAL" at this point. Let is arrange a meeting at NEB. I'm working with a new system to test the payroll, leavefare payouts, logistics, office and administration workflow process reminders, and most of all you can see for yourself in realtime.

It's fascinating to hear that TSC is heralding towards having things on data. Good initiative and creatively proposed. I praise those people behind that idea. 12/23/2015 04:01:30 pm
My appeal to the TSC for this year teachers allowances. Yesterday was pay 26 and why are they not paid as they deserve better. May I have a genuine reason. If not, disband TSC and let the appropriate state entity take over.

I read through all comments above and I hardly can see a reply form TSC. Why are you ignoring the very hard working human resource mentor of this country who really wants to know whats happening to their benefits/entitlements. Comments are closed.
