TWO Papua New Guinean women, with assistance from the US, will depart master’s
programme overseas later next month. Former Vudal University research and scientific officer Michelle Jambui will study for a Masters in Animal and Poultry Sciences at the State University – Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Cultural affairs and education Advisor official Gloria Willie said Jambui was the only applicant to receive the 2014 J William Fulbright Scholarship. She will depart Port Moresby on Saturday for her pre-academic programmes at Arizona University for about three weeks before the actual programme starts at Virginia Polytechnic, Virginia. “Only one lucky applicant is selected for the J. William Fulbright Scholarship from the three countries Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and PNG.” Meanwhile, the Education USA student, Sharon Nui will do graduate studies at the Roosevelt University in Chicago. Nui, a former accountant with Air Niugini, received advice to further her master’s studies as well. Willie said a meeting was held by the PNG-US Alumni Association and the US Embassy to welcome Mary Fairio who was the 2012 recipient of the J. William Fulbright Scholarship Comments are closed.
