Papua New Guinea has recently presented its risk reeducation policy designed to promote local level action and advancing multi hazard early warning systems to address natural disasters impact in the APEC region.
Managing Director for Climate Change and Development Ruel Yamuma made the presentation at the 12th emergency preparedness working group meeting in Vietnam among 20 APEC economies. Mr Yamuma said it was timely that PNG seeks support from the 20 APEC member economies to support the design of a National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Plan that will address all sectors and provide the avenue to implement effectively the APEC Disaster Risk Reduction Framework Adopted in 2015.
