THE Papua New Guinea Institute of Public Administration will change its name to Pacific Institute of Leadership and Governance on May 1. The institute is funded by the Australian and Papua New Guinea governments and started in 2015. It is the premier provider of ethical, needs-based training products and programmes of choice for Pacific Islands nations. It provides training-based partnerships while developing, maintaining and promoting training standards and qualifications for the public sector. Public Service Minister Elias Kapavore said what was needed was a change in approach to human resources “in terms of values, accountability, responsibility and the attributes that are needed”. “We want to go back to our districts,” Kapavore said. “All heads of the districts come and get this kind of values so that they can go back and bring change.” Statement
