The O’Neill – Leo Dion Government have been told solve the ‘real’ problem in the University of Technology strike by students.
A student from Unitech John Poli told Post-Courier Live over the phone that Prime Minister Peter O’Neill and his government must solve the real problem. Mr Poli says: “They know the real problem.” He says the problem was not about getting Dr Albert Schram back. “We are not fighting for an individual. We are fighting to bring him back so that justice could prevail and corruption be exposed in Unitech,” he says. Mr Poli says Dr Schram is justice and they as Unitech students want him to come back and expose corruption in Unitech. He says the real problem lies in the tabling of reports conducted during 2011 investigations into the Unitech saga. He alleged that millions of kina was missused by Unitech administrators at that time for their personal gain and Dr Schram used whatever little he had for the good of the students. “Dr Schram won the hearts of the students,” he says. Since 2011 there was no recommendations as per the report as such the students have decided to make a stance. Mr Poli made some revelations connecting some former senior Unitech staff to the National Government ministers. He alleged that these staffs were the main reason why Dr Schram was deported as he would reveal the corrupt practices in Unitech The strike continues in Lae. Post Courier Comments are closed.
