A SCHOOL debate between Melanesia countries will take place in Port Moresby this week.
Organised by the Institute of Business Studies high and secondary school students from Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea will be competing for the first title of the IBS Melanesian School of Debates. IBS associate director Vani Nades said the Melanesian School of Debates was the first of its kind in PNG where the debates’ themes would be aimed at raising awareness on the issues of regional interest. The debate venue was set at the Port Moresby Arts Theatre. The Vanuatu and Solomon Islands teams were already in the country. Team PNG comprises students selected among the best speakers of the 2014 7th IBS National School Debate last month. Team PNG will have Lucy Kangol (Utu Secondary), Emilyn White (Notre Dame Secondary School), Sharjeen Kua (Port Moresby International School), Michael Komba (Highlands Lutheran International School), Jeremiah Panapen (Coronation College) and Samuel Kavop (Port Moresby International School).
