Youths into skill training EMTV Photo
Youths in the country have been urged to utilize their potential and contribute meaningfully to the country. In a recent research into Sorcery in PNG, conducted by the Melanesian Institute Inc. in Goroka; it was revealed that youths are often involved in killing those who are involved in sorcery. Goroka youths, mostly unemployed, have been kept busy with skills training in areas of screen–printing, music skills, and literacy classes, including cooking and sports, at the Friendly Youth Centre in Goroka. Their products were on display for the community during International Youth Day, held recently in Goroka. Various representatives from NGO groups and Civil Society used the opportunity to educate young people about HIV AIDS. Dr Mike Muri, a Medical Doctor at the Goroka General Hospital told the youths that, self–pity destroys individuals’ dreams; therefore, youths must think positive to be successful in life. The day ended with various item presentations to the different sporting teams. Comments are closed.
