THE Papua New Guinea Computer Society yesterday hosted another Information and Communication and Technology (ICT) expo that showcased products from their partners.
There were about 12 exhibitors from different ICT companies, students of Institute of Business Studies, who showcased their products and what ICT did, among them. The event provided an opportunity for students to witness the expo and to find out about ICT and how they could expand their knowledge in changes in the technology of today’s society. IBS IT lecturer and PNGCS member Vadali Srinivas said the expo was aimed at providing an avenue for ICT organisations and companies to showcase their work. He said it was to encourage students to understand the industry as well. Laloki High School ICT teacher Rev Kagl Siwi said it was important for such exhibitions as they provided students the realistic side of what ICT organisations did. “We, as teachers, provide them guidance at school on this subject but they need to grasp it from a wider perspective through attending such exhibitions.” Siwi thanked PNGCS for hosting the exhibition and commended IBS for encouraging their students to take part in the expo. He said he was amazed when he saw IBS students with their own inventions and encouraged students to be more exposed to such activities. Comments are closed.
