FREELANCE education consultant David Ealedona believes students in the National Capital District need extra tutorial services to be well prepared for the upcoming national exams.
He said many children in PNG were capable of making it to the next level but because of a lack of study and the right focus in school, many of them had been pushed out of the education system. “My target group is the students that will be sitting for the national exams,” Ealedona said. Ealedona, who has been a teacher with the education system for the past 20 years and after his six-year experience of teaching in Nauru, he has decided to set up a tutorial centre in NCD for students who needed to improve their study skills. He said the tutorial centre would be used as a supervised study centre for students basic education from Grades 8 to 12 with the Government and private schools. “We will try to identify individual students’ weakness through diagnosis and provide the remedy by way of best solution in their learning practices,” he said. Ealedona and his wife are operating out of the Salvation Army premises in Boroko.
