The Office of Higher Education (OHE) has this year received 18,600 school leaver forms from secondary and national high schools around the country.
This is an increase of 8.5% from the 17,000 from last year. OHE director Dr David Kavanamur said in Lae yesterday that this was an indication of the need to fund tertiary institutions and increase spacing. “Free education has increased the number and percentage of Grade 12. “The government has to increase the number of scholarships and at the same time increase the capacity of higher education institutions.” Comments are closed.
