THE IT Job Training Centre in Port Moresby is offering automotive trainings beginning this year with first batch of 20 students currently undertaking automotive trainings.
Managing director Sunny Sun told The National during a tour on campus last week that this course is developed to Australian standard and is coordinated and assessed by the Newman Senior Technical College based in Australia. “It’s a very competent automotive training that we are facilitating here in PNG through our partnership with the Newman Senior Technical College,” Sun said. “We have taken a step further in our endeavour to provide competent training to partner with such institution overseas because we see the need for competent and quality trained technical people. “We are starting with automotive training and we will be looking at offering welding, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and other technical courses in the future and we are making progress in this direction.” Sun said it’s important that students and parents in this country take ownership of education if they want to see real change in life. “As a training institution, we are doing what we can do for the people and the country to partner with other institutions overseas.”
