THE University of Papua New Guinea’s School of Business and Public Policy Management has revived its pinnacle programme this year for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) students.
The 2015 pinnacle was held last week, an event to portray talents and skills of the MBA participants and to bring industry closer to academia. This saw 30 students participating in different activities include, corporate quiz, corporate leadership debate, situation handling and role play and treasure hunt under the theme ‘Developing Corporate Leadership Practices for sustainability’. Vice-Chancellor Professor Albert Mellam said: “This is a milestone event for the Business School as we have seen a lot of transformation in the school over the last 50 years as most students contribute heavily in the business sector.” Investment Promotion Authority managing Director Ivan Pamaleu said: “Corporate leadership development is vital to build successful and sustainable organisation and businesses.” “Organisation rise and fall on the leadership and people who run the organisations are in the business of leading people, systems and process, however they are also in the business of developing and educating leadership down the rank, file and designing leadership growth boosting local business activities,” he said.
