can now have access to the University of Technology (Unitech)’s library. Unitech Vice-Chancellor Dr. Albert Schram said: “In this partnership, we are basically trying to help each other. It looks at enhancing quality and skills of technical people.” Schram said there are industries and other sectorial member of Lae Chamber of Commerce that are taking the initiation to help bring trades people forward in terms of developing them. He said this arrangement is effective immediately as of last Wednesday. Schram said that the University is also considering providing another MOU that will look at sharing its other facilities, including exchange of teaching staff between the two institutions. National Polytechnic Institute director Graham Bidang said the aim of this partnership is to establish a training hub that will build support and offer programmes that will be recognised internationally, at the same time training and developing technical people of Papua New Guinea to meet industry expectations.
