More than 50 per cent cut to the second quarter Tuition Fee Free Subsidy money for Morobe is worrying education authorities in the province on how schools will manage to operate effectively in the remaining half of the year.
All schools in the province are expected to receive the remaining 70 per cent of their TFF monies this week but the National Government decided to cut that by 40 per cent. The Provincial Division of Education is very concerned that schools cannot fully function with what they have. NBC Morobe understands that head of the division Keith Jiram is in Port Moresby querying this crippling cut. Meantime all principals and head teachers have been advised to plan and budget well to allow their limited funds to take them up till the end of the school year.
