59,000 TEACHERS throughout the country will now have their profession recognised with the 2016 Inaugural PNG Teaching Excellence Awards (PNGTEA). The awards are to recognise teachers who inspire students and stimulate learning and provide exemplarily leadership despite the remoteness and harshness of conditions. The awards cover Category A the best elementary Teacher Best primary school teacher and the best vocational teacher and Category B which is for High and Secondary Schools with the Best English teacher awards, Best Mathematics Teacher Best Science Teacher and the Best Gender Teacher in other subjects with the Best Principle award Launched today at the National Parliament state function room by Education Minister the awards come under the PM Excellence Awards and generously sponsored by Exxon Mobil and facilitated by the Dept of Education.

Another great initiative from.the PMs department. I learnt the winner receives K4000? I think our teachers deserve a little more.than that. They built the nation by planting seeds of hope in our young hearts and minds, and continue to.harness the talent and.energy from the next wave of students. Let us.appreciate them.
