STUDENTS at the University of Papua New Guinea say their fight is to protect the integrity of constitutional offices and for setting a good precedent and legacy of leadership in the country. Student representative council president Kenneth Rapa told local media that they were not interested in any individuals. “Be it Prime Minister Peter O’Neill or whoever is currently holding a leadership position in this country. “People and leaders have seasons. They are here today and tomorrow they will go. The students are the future leaders of this country and if we go, the same cycle continues so long as PNG exists. “But our fight and our utmost concern is about precedents and legacy of leadership in Papua New Guinea,” Rapa said. “Leaders must set a good precedent and a legacy of true leadership in the country.” The National / PNGEDUNEWS Photo: UPNG4PNG
