THE Port Moresby International School last week hosted its annual Technology Week.
Head of technology department Maria Nodalo said the weeklong expo was held to celebrate the achievements of the students in their practical performances in technology subjects. “The fair is for those students taking Information Technology, crafts and design technology (CDT) and home economics to display their practical assessment products,” Nodalo said. “For most of them, it’s their first time to create something and they are fascinated by their own works.” The expo saw home economic students display blouses and skirts and decorative works, while those taking CDT displayed crafts such as small wooden mechanical toys, outdoor tables with chairs attached, flower vases and a lot more, while students taking IT did mostly software related projects using computers. Nodalo said they usually encouraged parents and guardians of students to attend and see the progress of the students. The expo is an annual event that the school has hosted for the last 10 years.
