Selected Primary and Secondary Schools in Madang, will receive laptops for their students this year.
Member for Madang, Nixon Duban, says this is among priority projects for the year, which was shelved, following an election petition which ousted him last year. Duban says, now that he's been re-elected, he will continue this project, in partnership with Divine Word University, beginning the first quarter of 2014. "One laptop per child is a project that I think has a big future. "Divine Word would be supervising the project through Father Jan Schuba. "He will be supervising this project and training. "We will spend a million kina to get about 3 thousand laptops and it will be distributed to selected schools for the first part of the project and those schools have been identified and they have been informed," Mr. Duban said. Duban adds, one-million Kina has been put through the National Development Bank, for Small Business Credit Schemes that his people can borrow from and venture into small business activities. He says, other priority projects include, the Pacific Marine Industrial Zone, improving road conditions in town and upgrading of the Madang international airport. Comments are closed.
