KOKOPO Secondary School held a successful graduation and opened its new science laboratory last Thursday.
More than 600 students – 427 Grade 10s and 202 Grade 12s – graduated in high spirits and celebrated with their families at the school. The science laboratory was built by local carpenters and completed in time for it to be opened on graduation day by provincial government officers, education officers and other stakeholders. The school became a high school in 1971 and became a secondary school in 2004. Some pioneers of the school, include acting provincial administrator Akuila Tubal and Wiliam Lamur, who is heading the business arm of the province – East New Britain Development Cooperation. Students have been using the old science laboratory since 1971 under the principal Paul Raia, who is known for being visionary, committed and disciplined. The new science laboratory houses three rooms – chemistry, biology and physics. Comments are closed.
