The official opening of new grade 3 classrooms at the June Valley SDA School, will eventually signal the transition from elementary stage to full primary school by 2016.
This was announced by the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Pastor Kembol Kep during the school’s speech day and the opening the new classroom block today. He added that with the developments and support from the Health Minister and MP, Michael Malabag, the school aims to provide quality education for children and the nation and thus prepare them for eternity. “I also want to extend our sincere appreciation to honourable Prime Minister Peter O’Neil and his government for free education policy and for enabling education and health become priority,” said Pastor Kep. He added that this new classroom block in a small way is a testimony to this fact. “On the same token of appreciation, I also salute the Carr memorial School for supporting and receiving all our students who have passed out from this school,” he said. Pastor Kep also acknowledged the National Department of Education for recognising and registering the school after much consultation and for giving priority to train three of the teachers at the Papua New Education Institute. Meanwhile, Minister for Health Michael Malabag said apart from all the financial support that he has provided, through Government Funding, he will continue to fund the school to build a new 1 by 4 classroom as of next year.
