A TWO-day workshop which aims to review the achievements and effectiveness of various cooperation activities previously implemented in Papua New Guinea’s basic education sector will began today in Port Moresby.
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) PNG will be conducting the workshop on the baseline survey data for primary education sector in Papua New Guinea. Representatives from the Education Department, teachers and lecturers will be participating in this two-day workshop conducted by JICA experts. The workshop will be designed and executed under the baseline data collection survey for primary education sector in Papua New Guinea. It also gathers basic data regarding current systems and issues surrounding the national basic education. JICA believes that from this two-day workshop, the analysis of potential priority issues that need to be tackled will be realized. During the workshop, the Japanese experts will introduce stakeholders to a procedure of textbook revision and the role of textbook companies in Japan. It will also highlight Papua New Guinea’s current system and suggest how the Japanese approaches can address issues and challenges faced in this country in terms of text books in schools today.
