The Highlands Lutheran International School in Enga has received a timely funding of K500,000 from the Enga Provincial Government to complete its outstanding projects.
With the cheque which was presented to the students, teachers and board members last Saturday by Enga Governor Peter Ipatas will be used by the school to complete two staff houses which are currently under construction. Ipatas said the funding was part of a K5 million commitment which was made by the Government five years ago to assist the school in its expansion program. He said a total of K3 million had been made already to the school. Ipatas said he would ensure that the balance of K2 million would be paid to improve capacity towards meeting the increasing enrollment demand by children of lectures and other professionals who were currently working in the newly established tertiary institutions in the province. School board chairman Pato Potane said his board and the other stakeholders were happy that the money was presented on time to complete the projects. He said part of the money would be used on completing a male student’s dormitory that was under contruction. “I am happy that our Action Governor has come to our assistance when we needed such help mostly to complete our projects,” he said.
