Grade 12 students of Gordon Secondary school who graduated today received an empowering speech from the Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, Mr. George Bopi. Mr. Bopi delivered an empowering speech that was engaging and fun for the 245 graduates. In the middle of his speech he asked the students a question to set them on the path to reality of life outside of school. “Whats the best gift you can give to your parents?”, he asked. Students attempted to answer, with one saying, “becoming successful in life is the greatest gift to parents”. All their answers reflected their perspectives but as a parent himself, Mr.Bopi had one particular word in mind. “Independence!”, he said. “The first step to success is failure. From here as you go out with whatever results be sure to strive to be the best in whatever you do and prove to your parents that you can become strong independent individuals. He said nothing made a parent more prouder and happier than seeing their child being strong and independent”. PNGFM
